the gradual development of form, expression, or desire.

Freaks rarely stay the same.
They grow.
They shed.
They discover new shapes: of pleasure, power, curiosity.

For this edition of Freaks on a Leash, we open the doors earlier and invite you to explore the many forms kink, creativity and community can take.
Arrive early, get comfortable and explore workshops, experiments and strange encounters.
The first part of the night is about exploration and community.
You can wander between spaces and discover:
• playful workshops on power dynamics, movement and consent
• conversations about intimacy and communicating desire
• furniture basics and curious challenges
• crafting lounge, colours and trinkets
• a collaborative take it home approach of writing your own story

Whether you are taking your first steps into kink or have been haunting dungeon spaces for years, this part of the night is about learning, sharing and experimenting together.

But evolution rarely happens single handedly.
Before the night transforms, we gather for a Get Ready With Us moment to touch up makeup, adjust outfits, add bodypaint, trade accessories and help each other become the creatures we want to be.
Think of it as a dressing room or the weird.

From there we can only hope to be prepared for the Unleashing.

The learning fades.
The music grows louder.
And the Freaks come off their Leash.

Upstairs the dancefloor opens with dark beats and metallic rhythms.
Downstairs the dungeon awakens for structured play and exploration.

Move.
Watch.
Play.
Transform again.

At midnight the spell is broken and the creatures vanish into the night..for now.

Dresscode
This is still Freaks on a Leash.
Even during the workshop part of the evening we ask you to arrive in scene-appropriate attire - fetish, goth, metal, alternative, experimental or otherwise beautifully strange.

Think dark glamour or creative colour explosion, leather, harnesses, platform boots, velvet, chains, textures and frill.
Comfortable enough to move and learn,
but still part of the night’s aesthetic.

Later in the evening you may choose to evolve your look further - adding makeup, wigs, bodypaint, latex layers or accessories during the Get Ready With Us moment before the party truly begins.

Community & Awareness
Freaks on a Leash is built by and for queer and alternative communities that value a consent-driven space.
Hosts and an awareness team are present throughout the night.
Respect boundaries.
Communicate clearly.
Look out for each other.
Because the weird ones always survive best in packs.
